The Goddard Times.

March has come and gone and it certainly provided us with all the wild weather we need for a while! Let's all welcome April and enjoy the first signs of Spring. April will find us celebrating The Week of the Young Child with lots of fun events planned. During the month you will be getting information about the Muscular Dystrophy Hop-A-Thon. The last week of April, while we are celebrating The Week of the Young Child, we will help our children learn about ways that they can help others. The Hop-A Thon will take place each day so everyone gets the opportunity to hop. We will also be running a "kids food drive" for the county food bank and some of our older classrooms will be sending letters and pictures to our soldiers overseas (please share with us the names and addresses of any friends or family members). Our children will all enjoy the fun antics of Uncle John as he visits with his puppet friends for a special show and of course we will end the week with an ice cream party for all to enjoy! These fun events will be sure to put big smiles on all the children's faces for our annual Spring photos. As always, have a wonderful month and a peaceful and joyous Passover and Easter. Enjoy!

Darling Dolphins

March was a fun month we had fun exploring the wild weather. We also got to wear green for St. Patrick's Day everyone looked so cute. April is here, cold weather is hopefully gone. April is about New Beginnings: baby animals, creepy crawlers, flying friends and teddy bears. Don't forget Passover starts on April 3rd, Easter is on the 8th and Earth Day is on the 22nd. Our shape for the month is an octagon and our color is brown. Our little friends are so busy. Everyone is crawling and Robert is walking. Alexis is starting to babble. Ashlee is "talking" with all her friends. Cooper is adjusting well to the classroom. Ava is pulling herself up to stand. Matthew is crawling and boy is he fast. Tripp enjoys playing with his friends. Victoria has a blast being mobile on the floor. Madison is just everywhere. Ashley is practicing to walk with a walker. We want to say farewell to Samantha, we will miss you! Also just a reminder to keep labeling all of your child's belongings with first and last name.

Thank You!

Terrific Turtles

March was filled with many exciting seasons. We explored a snow storm, an earthquake, tornadoes and a hot summer day. We also had fun dressing silly for Dr. Suess's birthday, everyone looked so cute in their outfits. The month of April we will be learning about "New Beginnings". We will explore "Animal Babies", "Creepy Crawlers", "Flying Friends" and "Teddy Bears". We cannot wait for the cold weather to leave and the warmer weather to come! We wish everyone a happy Passover and Easter holiday!

Wonderful Whales

March was a month of snow and Spring like weather. The Toddlers enjoyed learning about Dr. Seuss. Everyone is talking so much and enjoying learning new words in sign language from our Time to Sign program. They also love learning new words in Spanish from our Trampoline Spanish program. They now know each others names and now are practicing with potty training. Our themes for this month are "Animal Babies", "Creepy Crawlers", "Flying Friends" and "Teddy Bears". We can't wait to learn about these. Passover is on the 3rd, Easter is on the 8th and Earth Day is on the 22nd. For the health and safety of our class please make sure everything is labeled with first and last name.

Thank you

Jolly Jellyfish

The Jolly Jellyfish had an eventful and fun filled month of March. We enjoyed exploring our monthly themes: "Weather Stories", "Four Seasons", "Storm Watchers", "Blowing in the Wind" and "Sunny Days, Rainy Days". The children loved making Dr. Seuss hats and did a fantastic job learning about our monthly shape, the oval! We marched over to the windows in the classroom almost everyday, looking for a change in the weather. We would look to see if it was raining, snowing or sunny outside. We are looking forward to an exciting month of April and all of the "New Beginnings" it may bring! We will be celebrating Joseph's birthday on April 8th and Michael's birthday on April 15th! We would also like to welcome our two new friends, Michael and David into our classroom!

Fantastic Fish

It has been a busy month in the Get Set classroom. We celebrated Dr. Suess's Birthday by making Cat in the Hat hats and reading fun Dr. Seuss stories. We learned about weather and investigated thunder, tornadoes and rain. We made wind detectors, wind socks and an ocean in a bottle! We played with snow in the classroom, however we were really excited when the weather was nice enough for us to go outside to play again. This month we will welcome Spring and we will learn about new beginnings. We will learn about animal babies, creepy crawly caterpillars, butterflies and birds, our flying friends and teddy bears. We have been working on our sign language and Spanish, everyone is doing such a great job. We will be very busy this month with the Week of the Young Child and 19th all the fun things we have planned. Just some reminders, please remember to label all of your child's belongings with their first and last name.
Happy Birthday to Grace!
Happy Spring

Super Seals

March blew right into our classroom and we had lots of fun learning and experiencing hands on about our themes. The children spent this month learning about weather and everyone had the opportunity to become a meteorologist forecasting the weather around the U.S. We also learned about many famous composers. The children colored beautiful pictures to the sounds of The Fifth Symphony. We also created our very own violin that we played to the soothing sound of Mozart. The children came all dressed in green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and they all looked great. We cannot forget all the great activities and projects that we had about "Wind". We made our very own wind socks and sailed little boats in our water table. April will be a fun filled month, our theme for the month is "New Beginnings" and we will learn about baby animals, caterpillars, butterflies, insects and more. We have a lot of Birthday Celebrations in April. Happy Birthday to Derek, Joey, James, Olivia and David!

Lovely Lobsters

March was another busy month for the Lovely Lobsters. We enjoyed a month of wild weather. We learned all about rain, snow, wind, sun and rainbows. We created a "plate for the seasons" while discussing Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. The children have had the opportunity to work with a number of textures and colors in the area of art. We have had fun finger painting, using water colors, playing with sand, play-dough and shaving cream. They have really enjoyed each of these sensory experiences and will continue to explore more of the same in the coming months. April will bring some new and exciting themes for all of us to learn about such as; baby animals, bugs and insects and teddy bears. We will also be incorporating our color of the month, Brown, into our themes as well as the number 15 and 16. The shape of the month is an octagon. We would also like to take a moment to welcome our new friend Andrew to our class. We are so happy you are part of the Goddard's Lovely Lobster family!

Marvelous Manatee

Welcome Spring! The Manatees made it through all the "Wild Weather" in March and are bursting to "Look What's Growing" in April. We will be very busy with "Animal Babies", "Creepy Crawlers" and even a real "Teddy Bear Picnic", which is always a big hit with the children (and their teddy bears)! We have already finished the alphabet and we will be reviewing each letter briefly to make sure we know all the letters. As we look ahead to June, the Manatees have already begun preparing for our big Pre-K graduation and are busy practicing already! The next few months will fly by so we will be sure to cherish each and every learning and growing experience that comes each day. April will be sure to turn our once little Manatee caterpillars into beautiful, vibrant butterflies. You will surely be amazed by the transformation!

Happy Spring

Sparkling Seahorses

Happy spring everyone! Lucky green shamrocks and those little mischievous elves, called leprechauns brought magical mysteries to our classroom. We followed a golden pathway to a pot of gold hidden in our classroom, it was very exciting! Dr. Seuss brought us lots of crazy fun and rhyming stories. "Wild Weather" was our theme and we learned about the four seasons, how meteorologist predict the weather and the ferocious winds that the month of March can bring. We have finished the alphabet, hooray! However, we are not totally finished, the Seahorses are having so much fun sounding out words and learning to read. Wow! Rhyming and opposites words are a major focus. The children are doing fabulous job with their math skills. Our sign language and Spanish skills have taken off like a tornado. April brings us "New Beginnings", and of course warmer weather. We want to wish a very Happy Birthday to Sydney. Please remember to label everything that belongs to your child including lunch items, this is very important for the health and safety of your child. Our celebration of Spring begins!

Shining Starfish

We had a great time learning about the weather last month and St. Patrick's Day was a lot of fun! But we are already full speed ahead into our last trimester! April's theme of New Beginnings means a lot to our classroom. Not only do we have cool weekly themes like Animal Babies, Creepy Crawlers, Flying Friends and Teddy Bears. We will also be working on our reading skills. Please encourage your child to keep trying to sound out words they may not know. Every child moves at their own pace, so remember every little step is a positive one! Please keep up on th the sight words and you may also want to reinforce recognition of the penny, dime and nickel along with their values. We will focus on the octagon shape, the color brown and numbers 71-80. We will also be starting "Read and Tell" on Fridays instead of show and tell this month. The children will choose a book that they can read or partially read to share with their friends on Fridays! I wish everyone a Happy Easter and Passover!
