Summer

With August arriving the summer is certainly in full swing. The children have been having so much fun. The trip to The Environmental Center at Cattus Island was a big hit, as were all the fun visitors to our center. The children especially enjoyed the visit from some young local 4-H club members. They brought their show dogs and even had them in costume! August is sure to be a blast with Pony Rides, Moon Bounces, Musical shows and a performance of "Rock the Boat" by the theater group from the Camden Aquarium. August will also find us starting to transition students into their new classrooms for September. Please watch you mailbox for information pertaining to your child. On a final note, please remember to send in labeled water bottles and to apply sunscreen each day. Most of all enjoy this great summer weather with your families!!

Sparkling Seahorses

The Seahorses began our summer camp with a splash, the water slide and sprinkler days have certainly kept us cool. We ventured on various trips such as Insectropolis where the children learned about a variety of insects and bugs. We even got a chance to experience a tarantula, scorpion, millipede and a hissing cockroach hands-on! We had a great time exploring at Cattus Island. We also had a Petting Zoo visit our school and the fabulous music of Yosi was so enjoyable. Our campers have enjoyed learning about many famous authors such as Eric Carle, Ezra Jack Keats and Maurice Sendak. They are creating a terrific journal about all the books that we have read using their artistic abilities. August is here and we are looking froward to more hot weather, sprinkler days, adventurous trips and many more famous authors and their wonderful stories. We wish a Happy Birthday to Lauren and Jonathon. Please remember: apply sun screen on your child before they arrive at school, label all belonging with first and last name, including lunch items. Please include spoons, forks and napkins in your child's lunch and bring in a fresh bottle of water.
