Super Seals"Let it snow, Let it Snow"! January was our month of a Winter Wonderland and we observed the fun snow and all the fun things we could do with it! The Seals studied winter animals , sports and weather. We learned the animals who hibernate and even had a bear hunt to find a sleeping bear! During the week of winter sports , the children explored the technique of ice skating using paper plates and we also made our very own blue ice-pops during Hot or Cold week. The Super Seals are looking forward to the month of February. The theme for the month is A Day out on the Town and we will be learning about the market, museum and floral shop! Important dates to remember are Groundhog Day, Chinese New Years , Valentines Day and Presidents Day! Happy Birthday to Jake on the 4th and Brandon on the 15th ! Miss Courtney and Miss Michelle |

Marvelous ManateeNow that all of the craziness of the holidays is behind us it is time to buckle down and get to work! I want to remind everyone that we are now done with conferences but if you ever need to discuss your child's development, please do not hesitate to talk with me at any time. In the next couple of weeks we will be finishing up with consonants and learning vowels. Money, fractions and simple adding and subtracting will also be covered. We will continue to practice our address and phone numbers and learn all about the things we do in our town. Don't forget to bring in those shoeboxes for Valentines Day! Have a super month!

StarfishJanuary was the month of firsts in Kindergarten. The month not only ushered in the New Year there were also new experiences in our class. The children learned about New Years resolutions, making a list of their own. Many resolved that they would learn how to read, or they would not fight with their siblings so we are anxious to see who keep them! Other children were anxious to learn about migration, while some were interested in the hot/cold theme. The children were fascinated by our colored water experiment. Learning about equal parts and halves was also enthusiastically received! February appears to be equally challenging and interesting as we learn about the heart shape to coincide with Valentines Day, the color pink, the number 50-59, the letters F, G and H and long E. We will also learn about the concept of a town by taking trips to the market, the bank florist and museum. We'll also learn about Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Groundhogs day! Happy Valentines Day! Miss Barbara |
