Fantastic FishHappy Valentine's Day! We are going to focus on our manners this month, remembering to say "Yes Please" and "No Thank you," after snack time. We will also be practicing sharing our toys at center time throughout the month. To reinforce this, we will also have show and tell daily. Our theme for the month will be" A Drive Through Town", we will have a visitor from a dentist and we will also be going on a pretend field trip to the post office, bank and park. We will love to say happy birthday to: Justin, Jamie H, Brandon, Alicia and Lauren T! We also would like to remind everyone that everything must be labeled, including all hats, coats and mittens.
We hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day! |

Super SealsJanuary was such a wonderful month and it was filled with so many new discoveries. Although the weather outside was "not frightful" we the Super Seals created a magical Winter Wonderland inside. We had so much fun creating snowflakes, snow scenes and ice pictures. It was also very exciting to discover the difference between hibernation and migration. We now know that certain animals like bears and chipmunks hibernate for the winter and that birds migrate to a warmer place to find food. Our favorite story this month was Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Ben Mahon. Our Teddy Bear day was "beary cute" and it was a huge success! The month of February will be fantastic! Our theme for February is A Drive Through the Town and we're looking forward to learning about the different places in our town. Some of the places we will learn about are: the bank, the dentist and the post office. We will also learn about Groundhog Day and President's Day. Our Valentine's Day party will be on Tuesday, February 14, 2006. Please look on our door for the sign up sheet. Also, Please remember to check your child's cubbie daily. We'd like to give a Big Happy Birthday to Joey S on February 22nd and we would like to officially welcome Candace and Tyler to our class. We're the Super Seals and we're off to cruise our town!

Marvelous ManateeThe Manatees had a wonderful winter month in January! We had fun learning about animals who hibernate and had a blast wearing our pajamas to "hibernate" just like they do! We've been very busy making lots of winter projects like our snowmen with cotton ball faces, ski people and a class quilt. We are getting ready for February and all the sharing and caring that comes along with Valentine's Day! We'll also be learning about the dentist and post office too! Thanks to all who helped make our holiday season so much fun and a special thanks to all of you for our very special gifts!

Sparkling SeahorsesJanuary was a fabulous month, we enjoyed all of our Winter Wonderland themes. The children loved learning about all the different animals and how they survive the winter season. They even learned about where snowflakes come from and that each one is very different and unique just like them. We can't wait to see what February has in store for us, our theme is "A Drive Through Town" which will take us on an imaginary excursions to visit a park, dentist, a post office and a bank. A big thank you to all the parents who attended their parents-teacher conferences, I enjoyed sharing your child's progress with you. A very happy birthday to Jashua and Kierten who will be turning 5. Please remember to label everything with your child's first and last name and also to include all utensils for lunch including a napkin. Stay warm and enjoy February.
Thank you. |

StarfishOur walk through a "Winter Wonderland" has come to an end and we are now taking "A Drive Through Town". Our first stop will be to the park, where we will learn all about our friend the groundhog and see if there will be 6 more weeks of winter (hopefully not)! Next, we will all go see our friend the dentist and learn how to keep our teeth shining white. After a quick stop to the bank, we will head back to school to learn about some of the presidents on our money. The year is passing so fast and we are learning so much! I am so proud of all my kindergartners and can't wait to see how far they will go.
