Have a great month!
February is off to a great start with our annual Scholastic Book Fair. Scholastic has added a payment by credit card feature to this year's fair, and as always there will be plenty to choose from. To help celebrate our Book Fair we will be having a special presentation by a local author George Smith, who will be sharing one of his books with the children. This February also has a lot of our Preschool through Kindergarten children very excited as Tiger Schulman's Karate Cubs program will be here at the school. In mid February the entire building will be movin' and groovin' to Mr. Scott and his music show, which is always a blast!
I want to congratulate Miss Cherrell who was recognized at our January staff meeting for her recent academic achievements at OCC. and wish a Happy Birthday to all of our February Friends!

Sparkling SeahorsesThe first month of our New Year has come to an end, the Seahorses were very happy to get back to our classroom routine and join their friends again. January brought cooler weather, however we managed to keep warm and cozy inside with our "Winter Reading Fun!" Nursery rhymes and Disney stories were a wonderful addition to our weekly themes. We had a fantastic time with various science experiments such as creating our own snow, planting a winter crystal garden and practicing our measuring skills using colored ice cubes at the water table. It was snoooow much fun! We learned about the letters Q, R, S, T and U and their sound. Our math skills are developing nicely with addition and subtraction and the use of plus, minus and equal signs. I would like to thank all the parents who attended their Parent/Teacher Conferences it was a pleasure to share your child's progress with you. In February we will explore "All Around Town", finding out if the groundhog will see his shadow, taking care of our heart and teeth, learning about our Presidents and of course sharing our love on "Valentine's Day". We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Lauren, Alicia and Justin!
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! |
