Ringing in the New YearWe hope everyone had a wonderful New Year! There are many fun things planned for this upcoming year! Parent teacher conferences will be held the first week of January and this gives you a great opportunity to talk to your teacher about your child's progress. January brings us more cold weather so please look to your parent handbook for school closing policies. We announce closings on radio station 101.5FM and also leave an outgoing voice mail message at the school. We try very hard to remain open, so last minute calls are likely at times. |

Marissa does th army crawl to explore the classroom and colin is our little sports fan when he does a great big belly laugh at the word "score" and pick up his arms Please remember: it is important to label everything that you bring in to school! Super SealsWinter is now upon us! The month of December was so exciting. During the first week we studied "Music around the World". The Seals were extremely happy knowing that a special music guest was coming to visit! She sang songs and played all different instruments-some in English and some in Spanish. The next week we learned about "Foods Around the World"in which we made our own pasta plate and in sign language we learned how to say we are hungry. The children examined Spinach and of course had to taste it! Our color of the month was green and we learned that blue and yellow make green! All of us enjoyed learning about how other cultures celebrate the holidays and we had tasty treats as well! Thank you yo everyone who brought some in! January brings lots of birthdays to celebrate: Morgan, Katie B., Jade, Julia and Catherine! Happy Birthday to all! Our topics for the month are "Let it snow", "Winter Animals" |

Just a s December was busy with study of our cultures, music and holiday celebrations, January will be busy as well! We will be learning about weather and winter conditions. We'll also study winter animals, winter sports and opposites hot or cold. Our journey into the study of current events will be great and numbers 40-49, the star shape and the color blue should give us quite a treat! Miss Barbara |
