Wonderful WhalesDecember was a cold and busy month with transitioning children to their new classes and celebrating holidays around the world. The Toddler's had fun learning about different countries and the way people live. We would like to thank the parents for bringing in so many goodies and making our celebrations special. The Whales had fun wearing their pajamas at their party. The Toddler's are growing up so much and talking up a storm. Most of them know all of our Spanish flash cards by heart. We want to congratulate Stephen S., Olivia C. and Dylan G. who graduated to the Get Set class. Great Job!! We also welcome our new friend Sophia to our room. Our themes for this month are "Let It Snow", "Hibernation and Animals", "Winter Fun" and "Winter Stories". We can't wait to learn about them. For the health and safety of our class, Please make sure utensils, coats, hats, gloves, cups, bowls, pacifiers, containers and extra clothes are labeled with first and last names. Also everyone should have two sets of clothes with socks in the cubbies, utensils, smocks for art and bibs for lunch time.

Marvelous ManateeThe Marvelous Manatees had an outstanding month in December! We enjoyed bouncing into winter and learning about different customs and how people celebrate the winter holidays around the world. We loved making snowmen and chain links to help us count down the days until winter break arrived! All the Manatee's are looking forward to a month of winter fun as we enter our winter wonderland and the new year of 2006. During the month of January we will be also celebrate Annabelle's birthday, Hooray!! As the cold weather sticks around we will all be learning how to zipper and fasten our coats. Please remember to send in nice warm gloves and hats, label everything and check that your child's spare clothing is winter appropriate.

Sparkling SeahorsesHappy New Year everyone! The month of December brought magic and excitement to our classroom. Our theme "All Around the World" was so much fun as the children learned about transportation and many customs of different people and their countries. One of our biggest events was dressing as hula dancers and doing the "Hula", even Miss Toni joined us. A big thank you to all the parents who shared their family celebrations with us. It was nice to read about all the special foods and traditions that bring families together for the holidays. We hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday season.! January is here and we are ready for our "Winter Wonderland" theme and all the wonderful learning experiences it will bring. Our class has grown in so many ways socially and academically, we are very proud! We thank you for the continued support of your children, it is so important for their learning success. We want to wish Yna a very Happy Birthday, she will be turning five. Just a few reminders: Please label everything that comes to school with your child and remember to include all utensils for lunch.
Thank you. |

StarfishHappy New Year! The Starfish would like to extend their warmest wishes for a great year! December was a wonderful month as we traveled around the world on our own polar express! We learned lots of interesting things about the customs different people follow and the holidays they celebrate. We had a great time at the theatre watching the Frosty Holiday show and we want to thank Hunter's mom for accompanying us as a chaperone. We also want to thank all the parents who helped make our December holiday celebration fun by bringing in goodies! Everyone in the Starfish room is looking forward to a great "2006" as we begin the new year learning about different aspects of a winter wonderland. We will explore the fun winter holds, even as the temperatures outside dip. Speaking of cold weather, please be sure your child has nice warm clothes in their cubbies, and don't forget hats and gloves. We will continue to enjoy some outside time each day as long as the temperatures don't dip too low! Please continue to label all items your child brings to school and remember, in order to avoid disruptions to the learning environment, children need to be in their classrooms ready to start the day at 9 a.m. each day. Thanks for your continued cooperation.
