2007!!

Welcome 2007 and welcome back from winter vacation. I hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating with family and friends. I want to thank all of the teachers and parents for their contributions to making the month of December so much fun. The children learned a lot about the Winter Holidays celebrated by different cultures throughout the world. I also want to thank our own Miss Phyllis for sharing her musical talents and teaching the Bells to our Preschool through Kindergarten children. I hope the families enjoyed seeing the performances as much as our little hams enjoyed performing!!

Although we are always excited for the start of a new year, this January finds us especially excited as we are ready to have fun in our new classrooms and enjoy our new gym. Welcome to Miss Kristen and Miss Debra, our new head teachers in the Lovely Lobsters and the Jolly Jellyfish rooms. Happy Birthday to Miss Stacey, Miss Liisa Mai, Pop and all our little ones!
Have a great month!

Wonderful Whales

December was a busy month of learning about flying home for the holidays, customs and costumes and Holiday celebrations. The toddlers had a lot of fun learning about the themes and made cute gifts for their parents for the holidays. We would like to thank all of the parents who signed up to bring in the goodies for our party. It was so much fun and the children really enjoyed wearing their pajamas to school! We hope everyone had a Happy Holiday and a great New Year! We would like to congratulate Jack, Hailey and Jared on moving up to the Get Set class and Emerson, Jack , and Alex K are moving to the new Toddler room. We will miss you all very much. We will be focusing on our new theme for January which are, "Let it Snow", "Hibernation: Animals", "Winter Sports" and "Winter Stories". The toddlers can't wait to learn about these and have new learning experiences. The toddlers have come a long way with their verbal skills and have been trying very hard with their Spanish skills. For the health and safety of our class please remember to label everything that belongs to your child including pacifiers and blankets.

Thank you so much!

Super Seals

December was a fabulous month for all of the children. We were so fortunate to have the storyteller join us and she shared a lot of different stories and songs about all the different holidays that people celebrate. Everyone enjoyed participating in our musical performance. All the children did a great great job playing their bells and singing songs for their parents, we are so proud of them! The children learned so much about different cultures and their holiday customs. We also got to enjoy our holiday brunch which was delicious! We want to thank all the parents for your participation during the holiday celebrations. We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! In January it will be cold and chilly hopefully it won't keep us stuck inside. Our themes are Let it snow, Hibernation: Animals, Winter Sports and Winter Stories. We are excited for the fun we are going to have this month!

We are moving through the school year smoothly now and are growing and learning wonders! The children have welcomed our new homework system and are very proud to be responsible, young pre-schoolers! Sparkling Seahorses

Happy New Year everyone! The month of December brought magic and excitement into our classroom. Our theme " All Around the World" was so much fun as the children learned about transportation and many customs and costumes of different people and their countries. One of our biggest events was dressing as hula dancers and doing the "Hula". Our seahorses have been working very hard, they have learned the letters M through P and their sounds and they are doing a fabulous job with their letter recognition. Thank you for working with your children with their letter pictures, this is a great way to enforce the letters and their sounds. We are also working on the concepts of plus and minus and more complex patterning skills using manipulatives. The children had so much fun performing for their parents with their very special "Bells" concert and of course "Jingle Bell Rock". We loved sharing our favorite books on "Pajama Day" it was wonderful and relaxing. A big thank you to all the parents who contributed to our Holiday Celebration party. We hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday season with your families. January is here and we are ready for our "Winter Wonderland" theme and all the wonderful learning experiences it will bring. our class has grown in so many ways socially and academically, we are very proud of them. We want to wish a Happy Birthday to Jack, Chad, Annabella and Cassidy. Just a reminder, please remember label all your child's belongings with first and last name..

Starfish

We had a very busy month of December. We had the storyteller come and visit which was very exciting. We made gingerbread houses and learned how to play the bells with Miss Phyllis. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. I wish everyone a Happy New Year and we are ready to welcome The Winter Wonderland! Although it sounds cold, January brings themes to warm us up! We will tackle the topic of snow, winter animals, sports and then end the month enjoying those warm winter stories! We will be focusing on the numbers 1-50, the color blue, the star shape and the entire alphabet (letters and sounds). Please continue to practice those sight words, addresses and phone numbers too. Also, encourage your child to look for these words around them. Our next unit in reading is called "Finding Friends" and includes five selections about the meaning of friendship. We will continue sentence structure and of course reading! In math we will continue learning money value, counting and basic math skills. I also want to thank all of you for your help with all our holiday events, I couldn't have done it without you!
