Welcome 2008!

I hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating and relaxing with family and friends during the winter break. I want to thank all the teachers and the families for contributing so selflessly to help our children experience the sharing spirit of the Holiday season. Our Salvation Army toy drive was a huge success. The children's classroom celebrations were full of many international treats and our little one's had so much fun singing and reading stories with the parents and guests that were able to visit. I hope everyone had as much fun as we did! Well, as winter has certainly arrived, I know all of my cold weather friends are bundling up and enjoying the brisk days. For those of us warm weather worshipers, pile on the extra layers and hang in there! Happy Birthday to all of our January friends. Have a great month!

We want to welcome everyone back and hope you all had a happy, healthy and safe holiday. We would like to welcome Will S. who started in mid December and Sophia S, and Camryn C. to our room. We can't wait to get to know you and watch you grow! The big news from the current stars of the room is: Jasmine talks, talks, talks all day long, Brayden is crawling and standing up everywhere. Nathanial is busy rolling around and Spencer is sitting up like a pro. Camryn P. is on her way to crawling. Charlie loves to climb in and out of the block pit. Ashley is just a busy bee, smiling all day long. Shane is giving us great big smiles and Mason is standing everywhere, holding on ready to walk! Andrew and Alexis will be joining their friend Brady in Room 2 and we want to wish them lots of fun! Parents, please remember to label all of your child's belongings with first and last name and to always have at lease two complete changes of clothing and lots of bibs. Thank you!

Sparkling Seahorses

Happy New Year everyone! The month of December brought magic and excitement into our classroom. Our theme "All Around the World" was so much fun as the children learned about transportation and many customs and costumes of different people and their countries. One of our biggest events was dressing as hula dancers and doing the "Hula". Our seahorses have been working very hard, they have learned the letters M through P and their sounds and they are doing a fabulous job with letter recognition. Thank you for working with your child with their letter pictures, this is a great way to enforce the letters and their sounds. We are also working with the concepts of plus and minus and more complex patterning skills, using manipulatives. The children had so much fun performing for their parents to "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree", they did a fabulous job. A big thank you to all of our parents who contributed to our Holiday Celebration party. We hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday Season! January is here and we are ready for imagination and fantasy as open up to our "Winter Reading Fun" theme. Our class has grown in so many ways socially and academically, we are very proud of them. We thank you for your continued support. We want to wish a Happy Birthday to James and Caitlin. Just a few reminders: please label everything that comes to school with your child's first and last names. Parent teacher conferences will be held during the weeks of January 7th and 14th, don't forget to recheck the schedule on our classroom door.

Thank You
