May has bloomed here at the Goddard School! We have a lot of exciting things going on throughout the month of May! We will be showing our teachers how much we appreciate all the hard work they do everyday during their first week in May. We are looking forward to celebrating Mother's Day and are working hard on our gifts. Also, keep your eyes open for an exciting door contest that will be taking place at the end of May, it will be very exciting to see our great teachers' creativity come to life! With May approaching and June right around the corner we are getting ready for graduation, the children are very excited about the big event. A big congratulations to Miss Debbie O who is our most recent employee of the month. Miss Debbie is doing a fabulous job as Head Teacher in our Preschool class and we are happy to have her part of our school!

Wonderful WhalesApril was a month of mild weather and learning about "New Beginnings." The Toddlers enjoyed learning about "The Creepy Crawlers" the best! We celebrated The Week of the Young Child by making our hand prints on tiles, we watched a puppet show, we got our faces painted, goodie bags and had an ice cream party. The Toddlers had a blast! The Whales are learning new words and are talking so much with each other, it's amazing! They also really enjoy playing on the computer and listening to stories! Our themes for this month are: "In the Jungle", "In the Vegetable Garden", "Fancy Flowers", and "Bugs: the good, the bad and the ugly!" The children are very excited about the month of May! For the Health and Safety of our class please make sure everything is labeled with first and last name. Also, check cubbies to make sure there are two sets of clothing and utensils and bibs are labeled. We want to thank all the parents that brought in something for our Spring Celebration! We hope everyone has a Happy Cinco de Mayo on the 5th, Happy Mother's Day on the 14th and Happy Memorial Day on the 29th!

Fantastic FishWe had so much fun last month learning about different kinds of animals. We had a great time during The Week of the Young Child, we loved our ice cream party!. Now, as we approach May, we are spending our time exploring the outside, particularly different types of plants. We will focus our time on the jungle, the vegetable garden, flowers, the forest and different kinds of bugs: the good, the bad and the ugly! We would also like to remind everyone that as the weather gets warmer, check your child's cubby to make sure they have weather appropriate changes of clothes. Also, as the days are getting hotter, you may want to send in water bottles to keep in your child's cubby. We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Stephen and Sabastian!

Super SealsThe month of April was an especially exciting month. It began with a very special week, The Week of the Young Child. During this week we had an ice cream party, got our faces painted and participated in the Uncle John's Puppet show. We had so much fun! We also celebrated all kinds of new beginnings. We learned that there are a wide variety of baby animals in this world. Some live deep beneath the earth and yet there are others who live in the clear blue sea. We now understand that no matter the size, shape or color of the baby animal they are all special to the earth and each one has its own special job. We really loved getting down and dirty with our creepy crawlers. We also couldn't believe how fast our class caterpillars grew, before we knew it they made cocoons and turned into beautiful monarch butterflies! May's theme is: Look What's Growing! During this month we will be studying things that grow in the vegetable garden as well as in the jungle. We will learn about fancy flowers, fun in the forrest and more bugs: the good, the bad and the ugly. We'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to Scott 6th, Justin 9th, Katelyn 20th, Anthony 26th, Kayla 29th and Marisa 30th. We'd also like to officially welcome Ibrahim and Jonathan B to our class! We are the Super Seals-Let's Grow!

StarfishGraduation is right around the corner...the year as gone by so fast! Besides seeing how fast the children are growing, we will be noting how other things grow with May's theme "Look What's growing!" We start off this month "In the jungle" and through to "In the Vegetable Garden" where we will see "Fancy Flowers" growing. The following week we will have some "Fun in the Forrest" to observe some "Bugs: the good, the bad and the ugly."
