Terrific Turtles

The Terrific Turtles have had a wonderful month! We learned all about our bodies, our families, and our friends. Colin, Nicole and Samantha have had so much fun getting to know their new friends and how they are just like one of the family. Sydney and Marisa are so helpful at circle time; Sydney tells us what song to do next and then Marisa shows us how to dance to it. Jack has become our playground helper, he makes sure that all of his friends keep their hats on while we are outside. Alexa can say all of her friends and teachers names now and Justin and Sofija are learning new words everyday! October is going to be so much fun! We are going to learn all about community helpers including the police, fireman, mailman, dentist and the vet. Have a happy Halloween and don't forget to wear your costume to school!

Marvelous Manatee

Now that we have settled into our new school year things are getting into high gear. All of the children have adjusted really well to the new routine and are learning so quickly I can hardly keep up with them. Be sure to have them show you sign language and how well they write their names now! You will be so proud of them!! Reminder: Some of you haven't brought in family photos for our tree yet. We ask for 3 pictures of your child and his/her family (including a baby picture) to hang up. They love showing their friends! Happy birthday to Robert, Kaleigh and Owen! Please remember to send your child in with their halloween costume on for our parade. Thanks parents for all of your support. We appreciate it!

Sparkling Seahorses

We are off to a great start this year and everyone is adjusting very well! September was full of excitement and friendship! Our theme for October will be community helpers. We will be learning about safety, the firemen, the policemen, dentist and the vet. We will be moving on to the color orange, the triangle shape and will be counting to 20. Just a reminder that all food in your child's lunchbox should be labeled with his or her name and there should be two changes of clothing in their cubbies in case of an accident of any kind. Happy birthday to Conor, Cianna, Meghan, Gianna, Zachary and Ana this month! We are very happy with the wonderful response to the homework, we will try to give one sheet per week! Please remember to send your child to school in their costume for the halloween parade.

Starfish

September has been a super month for the Kindergarten children. We have learned many new concepts and had so much fun. Some of our highlights have been showing off our family pictures and making new friends. Our discovery of apples has been exciting as we've tasted them, used them in art and science and examined their parts. We've been working on the letters Ll,Mm,Nn and Ss. We are learning their beginning sounds and ending sounds and distinguishing letter sounds in spoken words. We reading many books in class to recognize the association between spoken and written words and to retell simple stories. In math we are learning to recognize and write numbers 0-10 along with their word name and to solve simple math problems and other concepts. The children love to write their journals daily and our weekly show and tell has been a big hit. We wrapped up the month with the themes of "What Am I Made Of: All About the Human Body" and "A House is a Home: All About Structures." We also explored the color red. October brings us a whole new learning experience with all new themes and concepts. We will discover and examine the season of fall, the changing weather and orange pumpkins. Our month is all about community helpers. We will explore the color orange, number 11-20, the letters Aa, Dd, Pp, Tt and the triangle shape. We will continue to work on Spanish words, sign language and letter sounds. Fall brings a wonderful opportunity for your children to be creative with show and tell and favorite books from home are always welcome. Details about the halloween party and the pumpkin picking trip will be posted on our classroom door. We are looking forward to an awesome month of learning.
