Fall is Here

Fall is here and there's a lot of excitement in the air! We are very excited about the progress of the new addition and can't wait to celebrate at our Fall Fun Festival on Saturday, October 21st. Our Fall Fund raiser will start on Monday, October 9th. The proceeds will go directly to extra special educational toys selected by the teachers in each classroom. During the month of October everyone will have the opportunity to "pick a pumpkin" for the March of Dimes. We are very happy to participate in this very worthy cause. On October 25th, the older Pre-K and Kindergarten children will enjoy a trip to Battleview Orchards for apple and pumpkin picking. The end of the month will find us enjoying the annual Halloween parade on Tuesday the 31st. Details will follow.
We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to all the October babies and to Miss Stacey Frye and Miss Robyn! Have a wonderful month and enjoy your family celebrations for Rosh Hashanah!

Wonderful Whales

September was a busy month of learning names of our friends and teachers. The Toddlers also had to get used to doing different centers during center time. They learned a lot about being special, their favorite things, family fun and all about our bodies. The Toddlers had fun learning on the computer and doing the different Base fitness activities. Our themes for October are "Safety Rules!", "Many Hats", Building time", "Heathy Helpers" and "Autumn Fun Week". The Toddlers can't wait to learn about these. For the Health and Safety of our class please make sure your child's sleeping bag, blankets, bowls, plastic containers for lunch, bibs, coats and extra clothes with your child's first and last name. We hope everyone has a Happy Rosh Hashanah, Happy Columbus Day, Happy Yom Kippur and Happy Halloween. Happy Birthday to Alex!

Sparkling Seahorses

Our Sparkling Seahorses are bursting with energy and striving for independence. Friendship, sharing and caring for each other have been their main goals. Their days are full of exciting activities such as "Circle Time", where they greet each other with our morning songs. Recognition of names, addresses, phone numbers, colors, shapes and numbers are developed through various games, manipulatives and the use of the flannel board. Each week they are introduced to a new letter and it's source sound. Our four-year-olds especially enjoy meeting our letter puppet that helps act out our story of the week. Our hands-on learning centers help to develop Math, Language Arts and creative abilities. We have explored many activities relating to our monthly theme "Getting To Know Me". October brings us new learning adventures and of course Halloween, our theme is "Community Helpers". We are looking forward to our new season of "Fall" and all the wonderful colors it will bring. We wish a very "Happy Birthday" to Marisa, Thomas, Jax and Christopher. Just a few reminders: please label all of your child's belongs with first and last name. Also, please make sure all required utensils, including napkins are packed for your child's lunch. Your child should have a fresh bottle of water each day. Remember to spend some time with your child each day, sharing their day makes them feel extra special and develops a positive self-esteem.

Starfish

So far the month of September has been rewarding for the students as well as myself. We've made new friends, experienced new ideas and are all starting to feel comfortable in our daily routine. During the month of September we've practiced our handwriting, focused on the letter A and reviewed our sounds of the letters in the alphabet. We also have maintained our normal daily activities including the month of September, the days of the week and we are getting ready for our new season, Fall. We have created fun-filled projects such as friendship bracelets, a friendship quilt and most creatively our own "starfish" class book. The Starfish are looking forward to the month of October. We will be focusing in on the letter B as well as reviewing the sounds of the alphabet. We also are looking forward to our monthly themes including "Safety Rules", "Many Hats", "Building Time", "Healthy Helpers", and "Autumn Fun Week". We are all looking forward to the month of October. I would just like to also wish Emily a very Happy Birthday!
